A story that begs to be told — about life first and sports second

While A-Rod and the NBA trade deadline propositions are flooding the wire and television, there is a story about a high school team and an unknown basketball player that should be read before you spend anymore time on other sports stories out there.

Thanks to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and columnists, such as the AP’s Tim Dahlberg this story, about dealing with the loss of a parent and the love and understanding of high school athletes, is told and told well.

HERE is a link to Dahlberg’s column on Yahoo! sports. Enjoy, and please share.

About rjwalters

I am what you think I am — a journalist. Actually when I was hired at my current job, which by the way is Sports Editor of the Hillsdale Daily News in Hillsdale, Mich., I applied for a position titled "Wordsmith", so at my best I'll call myself a writer attempting to be a wordsmith extraordinaire.
